The torque is conducted through elastomer flexibles, so the couplinghas typically flexible rubber properties.
The flexible inserts of the H-EUPEX coupling are subjected to compression.If the flexible inserts are irreparably damaged, the hub partscome into contact with metal. This ;emergency operation capability ;is required, etc., in the case of fire pump drives.
The motor torque is transmitted to the hub at the drive end viathe shaft-hub connection, which is mostly designed as a keywayconnection. The torque is transmitted to the hub on the outputside with the aid of elastomer flexible inserts. The hub on the outputside further transmits the torque to the driven machine or a gearunit placed in between. Because of the primarily compressionloadedelastomer flexible inserts, the coupling has a progressivetorsionalstiffness.
